This past weekend we went away for an overnight. When packing for our stay, I asked Barrett if she was going to pack her "little" security blanket which she usually takes on trips. "No ma'am. I'm almost 7. I don't need it."
Wow. I was floored.

Oh boy your really are from the South! We have a friend from Louisiana and he makes his kid call us Mr. /Ms. or Ma'am or Sir!
