Division of Labor.

My husband and I have been married 15 years.  I discovered in the early years of our marriage (during the practical experience portion of my Mars v. Venus education) there were certain tasks that I could rely on my husband to perform without even asking.  These were tasks he just automatically assumed.  Yard work. Taking out the garbage (mostly). Hanging pictures (with much direction). Any mechanical or repair work requiring the use of a screwdriver, hammer or wrench. Plunging the toilet (he's usually the responsible party anyhow).

Since we have added children to our family, I have begun to discover a new division of labor.  There are new tasks regarding the children that he has automatically assumed.  Teaching the children to ride a bike.  Reading to the kids at night. Hair washing on Saturday night (yes, yes, I know how lucky I am). And pulling teeth.  I'm not sure when he decided that it was his job to extract the children's teeth whenever they became the least bit wiggly, but he did.

Last night another one of Barrett's teeth succumbed to Daddy's "to do" list.  Initially she is reluctant, if not defiant.  Afterward, however, she is triumphant.

Barrett also left her Tooth Fairy a note, who is apparently named Flossie.

Maybe he was a dentist in a past life, and the idea of extracting teeth just calls to him!

Is that a stylish new do that I see on Miss Barrett? She has quite the haircut. As I sat looking at her picture, I found myself thinking, hmmm, I wonder if I can pull that look off.

Your daughter is 7. I am 34. Good times, good times!

PS: It simply is not possible that Clayton is the Hungry Lurker at the park. I won't believe it, but will be following up with Miss Keri on the matter.
